| UGANDA DEPART FOR CAR U19 TOURNEY | |

URU has named a contingent of 23 under 19 players and 6 officials to participate in the CAR U19 tournament that starts on Sunday 25th July-Saturday 31st July in Abidjan,Cote D'Ivoire. Besides Uganda the other participating nations are Cote D'Ivoire, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Morocco, Namibia and Tunisia. Uganda plays her opener at 1630 hours on Sunday 25th against Kenya. The team is captained by South African based Ivan Nelson Cadri a student of the University of Cape Town who plays hooker and also includes a US based player Samuel Barong. The team is coached by Brian Makalama who is deputised by backs coach Geoffrey Mabonga. Brian Makalama informs that the team has been training hard for the last 2 months and he expects them to put up a worthy performance. Last year Uganda came fourth getting knocked out by eventual winners Zimbabwe.
