Beach Rugby defending champions Tag Rugby Trust on Saturday showered Summerkamp 30-5 in a tight final to be crowned 2011 Beach Rugby champions a second title in a row having scooped last year’s silverware. Two trys from youngster Phillip Wokorach for 10, two from Philip Pariyo, one each from Captain Peter Ochol and Alfred Bijik sealed the deal for the Lugogo based charity organization.

The semi finals saw Tag Rugby walloping Water 20-5 while Summerkamp squeezed out G4S to make it in the competitive final.

Skillful play from G4S saw them garner 35-5 points to eliminate Data Dimension for the semis. The Uganda hotties were the first to succumb to Tag Rugby’s lethal whip as the Charity finished unbeaten for wining all their games against all teams.

The day’s rankings saw Summerkamp finish first runners up as G4S came third, Water (H2O) took fourth place while Uganda hotties the daringly dressed team and Dimension Data finished in the fifth and sixth positions respectively.

Dimension Data had a grip on the other male dominated teams although focus was distracted in their clash against the hotties conceding three trys as they managed just two.  Security side Team Manager Patricia Sentongo also G4S Security Sales Manager  blamed her team’s loss in critical games to hotties enticing dress code that most of the time shifted her player’s attention off the ball . G4S drew against tough Summerkamp 5-5 beating Hotties 15-0 and Data Dimension 35-0 garnering 70 points to meet third placed Summerkamp again at semi’s stage but were technically out smarted with a 5-15 defeat.

The Wazze curtain raiser game saw veteran player Denis Mutoijo, IWAY Africa Finance Manager/Pirates Treasurer  make his way past Herbert Wafula’s semi-wazze side scoring two trys for Wazze’s top scorer  to take the senior side win at 20-5 score.
